Why Did SaffronStays Raise Fresh Capital?

Managed holiday home platform SaffronStays has secured $3.5 million in a funding round led by Infinity Ventures, with participation from several family offices. The round comprised both fresh primary capital and a partial secondary sale by existing investor Sixth Sense Ventures.

The funding comes as India’s premium vacation rental and experiential hospitality market continues to witness strong demand from travelers seeking private villas, heritage stays, and curated holiday experiences.

Founded in 2015 by Tejas Parulekar and Devendra Parulekar, SaffronStays plans to use the capital to accelerate growth across leisure destinations, strengthen its technology platform, and expand its managed property portfolio.

How Will SaffronStays Use The New Funding?

The Mumbai based company intends to deploy the fresh funds towards expanding its presence in both existing and emerging travel destinations across India.

The startup will also invest in technology development, product innovation, guest experience enhancement, and operational capabilities. In addition, the company plans to increase the number of managed homes listed on its platform as demand for premium vacation rentals continues to rise.

Management believes the investment will help strengthen SaffronStays’ position in India’s growing alternative accommodation segment.

Its portfolio spans major leisure markets including Maharashtra, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Rajasthan, and Delhi NCR.

Why Is India’s Vacation Rental Market Growing Rapidly?

The Indian travel industry has witnessed a major shift toward experiential and destination-led travel in recent years. Travelers are increasingly choosing private villas, boutique properties, heritage homes, and curated stays over traditional hotel accommodations.

This trend has been driven by changing consumer preferences, flexible work arrangements, family travel, celebrations, destination weddings, and corporate retreats.

As a result, managed holiday-home platforms like SaffronStays have emerged as key beneficiaries of the growing demand for personalized travel experiences.

What Is Next For SaffronStays?

The company plans to deepen its presence in the premium hospitality segment by focusing on destination-driven experiences, family vacations, group celebrations, and corporate offsite retreats.
