Can Naturis Cosmetics Become India’s Next Major Beauty Manufacturing Platform?
Naturis Cosmetics, a research driven contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) for beauty and personal care brands, has raised ₹100 crore in its first institutional funding round, led by Sharrp Ventures. The round also witnessed participation from Mirabilis Investment Trust (Infosys Co-founder K. Dinesh Family Office), Anicut Capital, Niveshaay, Hyperscale Ventures founder Suyash Saraf, Yogesh Kabra, and several angel investors from the pharmaceutical and specialty chemicals sectors.
The funding marks a significant milestone for the company, which has built a profitable manufacturing business while partnering with some of India’s fastest growing beauty and personal care brands.
Funds to Boost Manufacturing, R&D and Category Expansion
Naturis Cosmetics plans to use the fresh capital to significantly strengthen its manufacturing capabilities and research infrastructure.
According to the company, the proceeds will be deployed to establish a new manufacturing facility in Vapi, set up an experience centre in the National Capital Region (NCR), and build a dedicated research and development hub in Mumbai. The company also plans to expand into newer categories across beauty, personal care, OTC healthcare and cosmeceuticals.
Commenting on the funding, Rahul Tandon, Co-founder and CEO of Naturis Cosmetics, said the investment will help accelerate the company’s vision of building one of India’s leading beauty and personal care manufacturing platforms through stronger R&D capabilities and larger manufacturing capacity.
Manufacturing Partner Behind Leading Beauty Brands
Founded as an R&D-led Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO), Naturis Cosmetics develops formulations and manufactures products for more than 50 beauty and personal care brands.
Its customer portfolio includes several prominent names such as Nykaa, Pilgrim, Purplle, Colorbar, Bare Anatomy, Kay Beauty, and Asaya.
Beyond beauty brands, Naturis also manufactures products for pharmaceutical companies including Glenmark and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories in the OTC and cosmeceuticals segment.
The company’s business model allows consumer brands to outsource product development and manufacturing while focusing on branding, marketing and distribution.
Customer-Centric Innovation Drives Growth
Naturis attributes much of its success to its research-first approach.
The company continuously develops new formulations while working closely with partner brands to launch differentiated products across skincare, haircare, cosmetics and wellness categories.
As India’s beauty market continues to evolve, brands are increasingly seeking manufacturing partners capable of delivering faster innovation cycles, regulatory compliance and scalable production.
Naturis aims to position itself as a long-term innovation partner rather than just a manufacturing vendor.
Strong Financial Performance
Although the company is yet to file its FY26 financial statements, it reported strong financial growth during FY25.
According to the company:
- Operating revenue increased around 40% to ₹154 crore, up from ₹110 crore in FY24.
- Net profit stood at ₹12 crore during the year.
Naturis also stated that it has maintained more than 50% compound annual revenue growth (CAGR) over the past four years while remaining profitable.
The combination of sustained growth and profitability has helped attract institutional investors in its maiden external funding round.
India’s Beauty Manufacturing Opportunity
India’s beauty and personal care industry has witnessed rapid expansion over the past few years, driven by premiumisation, digital-first brands, influencer-led commerce and increasing consumer spending.
As more D2C brands enter the market, demand for specialised manufacturing partners has grown significantly.
Contract manufacturers such as Naturis play a crucial role by providing formulation expertise, manufacturing infrastructure, regulatory support and product innovation, allowing brands to scale efficiently without investing heavily in production facilities.
The company’s expansion into OTC healthcare and cosmeceuticals also reflects the growing convergence of beauty and wellness in the Indian consumer market.
Looking Ahead
With its first institutional funding secured, Naturis Cosmetics is entering its next phase of growth focused on expanding manufacturing capacity, strengthening research capabilities and broadening its product portfolio.
As India’s beauty and personal care market continues to expand, the company aims to leverage its R&D expertise, profitable operations and strong customer base to become one of the country’s leading contract manufacturing platforms for consumer brands.
