State owned power producer NTPC Ltd. reported a strong financial performance for the first quarter of FY27, with its consolidated net profit rising nearly 13% year-on-year to ₹6,896.44 crore, driven by higher revenue from operations.

According to the company’s regulatory filing, net profit increased from ₹6,108.46 crore in Q1 FY26 to ₹6,896.44 crore in Q1 FY27, reflecting steady growth in India’s largest power generation company’s operations.

The robust quarterly performance comes as electricity demand continues to remain strong, supporting revenue growth for the public sector power major.

Revenue Crosses ₹51,000 Crore in the First Quarter

NTPC’s total income increased to ₹51,141.51 crore during the April–June quarter of FY27, compared with ₹47,821.11 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

The increase in revenue was primarily driven by higher operational income, reinforcing NTPC’s position as India’s leading power generation company.

The company’s steady revenue growth highlights continued demand for electricity across industrial, commercial, and residential segments.

Profit Growth Supported by Higher Income

The nearly 13% rise in consolidated net profit was largely supported by the company’s higher revenue during the quarter.

Despite operating in a capital-intensive sector, NTPC continued to maintain healthy profitability, benefiting from its diversified power generation portfolio and stable operational performance.

The company remains a key contributor to India’s energy infrastructure, supplying electricity through a mix of thermal, hydro, solar, and renewable energy projects.
